On October 10, 2017, Alexander A. Karelin, State Duma Deputy, Hero of the Russian Federation, three times Olympic champion in Greco-Roman wrestling  visited the All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM).

Academician of RAS, Evgeny N. Kablov, Director General of VIAM told the guest about history of the enterprise and large-scale projects in which VIAM took part and the most important state tasks are being solved by the team of the institute today.

Annually we develop about 40 new material grades, nearly 150 developments and technologies are mastered at industrial enterprises, about 100 patents are used in our own production”, - Evgeny Kablov pointed out.

In the course of the visit Alexander Karelin got acquainted with the main directions of VIAM`s activities, research and manufacturing complexes as well as high-technology low-tonnage production.

He highly appreciated the modern developments of the institute, which found application in articles of aerospace engineering.

It should be noted, that Alexander Karelin became the guest of a creative project “Synkletos at VIAM”.
