On July 18-23, 2017, the All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM) participated in the International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS.
The institute demonstrated a large-scale exposition (pavilion D2) at MAKS. The Salon participants and visitors could get acquainted with the main directions and the latest achievements of VIAM in the field of development of materials of new generation and breakthrough technological solutions.
Today, additive technologies largely determine the development of the Russian industry; therefore VIAM presented its developments in this field within the framework of MAKS-2017. In particular, samples of details for gas turbine engines as well as construction elements of aviation engineering, produced by additive technologies were demonstrated at the exposition.
Besides, the Salon visitors would be able to see a small-sized gas-turbine engine for unmanned aerial vehicle, produced for the first time in Russia by using the technology of layered laser melting.
Unique lacquer coatings, sound and vibration absorbing materials as well as materials, withstanding the effect of open flame and aggressive environment of the Arctic were exhibited at the exposition.
It should be noted, that representatives of mass media were actively interested in the developments of VIAM.
At present the International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS has become one of the leading global exhibitions. The main aim of the aviation salon is the demonstration of the Russian high technologies and openness of the Russian market for joint projects with foreign partners.
