On July 18, 2017, Sergey I. Morozov, the governor of the Ulyanovsk region visited the exposition of the All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Aviation Materials.

Academician of RAS, Evgeny N. Kablov, Director General of VIAM told about the latest achievements of the institute in the field of additive technologies as well as additive manufacturing of full cycle, developed at VIAM.

In the course of the visit, Evgeny Kablov reported to the head of the region on the activities of the Ulyanovsk Scientific-Technological Center (USTC VIAM) for 2016 and the first half of 2017. He also told about the prospects for development of branch capacities, aimed at expansion of production of polymer binders, semi-finished products and details from polymer composite materials.

Besides, they considered the issues of personnel training in the interests of USTC VIAM and production enterprises of the region.

As a result of the meeting, a decision was reached to prepare general agreement on cooperation between VIAM and the Ulyanovsk region. The signing of the agreement is planned in September this year.
