On July 19, 2017, Academician of RAS, Evgeny N. Kablov, Director General of the All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM) took part in the session of the Russian-Chinese group on civil aviation and aircraft building.

Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Oleg E. Bocharov and Vice-Minister of Industry and Information Technology of the People`s Republic of China, Xin Guobin are the cochairmen of the group.

During the meeting, the participants in the talks reviewed the results of subgroups of the working groups on aircraft building, engine building, production of civil helicopter, science, technologies and materials science as well as subgroups on airworthiness and airborne equipment.

In particular, the parties of the session paid special attention to the issue of production of engine for a wide-body long-haul aircraft – a project of the prospective joint Russian-Chinese aircraft, designed for 250 – 300 people.

It should be noted, that sessions of the Russian-Chinese special working group of materials and production technologies were held with the participation of specialists of VIAM and Beijing Institute of Aeronautics Materials in March and June, 2017.
