The Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology (Rosstandard) has approved two national standards in the field of additive technologies. The standards have been developed within the Technical Committee on Standardization “Additive technologies”, established on the basis of VIAM (Minpromtorg of Russia) jointly with JSC “Science and innovations” (SC “Rosatom”).
In particular, the standard “Additive manufacturing processes. Fundamental principles. Part 1. Terms and definitions” specifies basic terms and definitions and serves as the basis for understanding fundamental principles of additive manufacturing.
The main aim of development of the standard “Materials for additive manufacturing processes. Methods of control and testing” is establishment of the methods of control and testing of raw material in the form of metallic powder compositions, used in additive manufacturing.
As Academician of RAS, Evgeny N. Kablov, Director General of VIAM pointed out: “Development of the system of national standards is the necessary condition for the widespread introduction of additive technologies into the industry of Russia.” According to him, the standards developed within TC 182 “Additive technologies” are the most important component of this process.
It should be noted, that the Technical committee №182 “Additive technologies” was established by an order of Rosstandart № 1013 of 1 September, 2015. It includes 58 organizations. A secretariat of TC was formed on the basis of VIAM. Olga G. Ospennikova, Cand. of Sc.(Tech.), Head of scientific-research bureau of VIAM «Heat-resistant cast and wrought alloys and steels, protective coatings for GTE components» and Aleksey V. Dub, the first deputy Director General of JSC “Science and innovations” are co-chairmen of the Technical committee.
