On January 11, 2017, Director General of the Russian Science Foundation (RSF), Alexander V. Khlunov visited the All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM).

Within the framework of the visit, the manufacturing capability of VIAM was demonstrated to the guest. In particular, Alexander Khlunov got acquainted with the modern scientific-research and manufacturing complexes as well as laboratories.

As Academician of RAS, Evgeny N. Kablov, Director General of VIAM pointed out: “Today the institute has developed and successfully operates high-tech, low-tonnage manufacturing units producing over 230 product items.”

The specialists of the institute told the guest about the last developments in the field of production of materials and technologies of new generation.

During the meeting, Evgeny Kablov and Alexander Khlunov discussed the issues of further cooperation between VIAM and RSF, including joint works on development of materials for the Artic climate.
