On September 28, 2016, Academician of RAS, Evgeny N. Kablov, Director General of the All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM) held a meeting of the Scientific and Technical Council under the Governor of the Samara region.
The meeting was held on the basis of S.P. Korolev Samara National Research University. Its participants discussed the results of work of expert body for two years and determined the priority directions, which would bring real results for industry and economy of the region and the country.
“I would note with pleasure, that the work of the council fully meets the stated goals and tasks, - Nikolay I. Merkushkin, the Governor of the Samara region said, while opening the meeting of STC. – The first meetings have given us an additional impulse to understand where we are and how efficiently we should move ahead in directions which we have defined.”
In turn, the Chairman of STC Evgeny Kablov reported about joint works, which VIAM carries out with the enterprises and the higher education institutions of the Samara region.
Besides, the Leader of VIAM gave special consideration to the issue of training of young specialists in his report. According to him, the work with the rising generation has been organized at the highest level in the Samara region. The bright examples are establishment of school for gifted children, active robotics learning at schools and work on development of nanosatellites at universities
It is necessary to prepare young people from school. We can see this in the Samara region. Today I have observed how classes passed at university. Young people burn with the desire. They told about their activities not mechanically, they passed it through soul and heart. It impressed and infused with hope”, - Evgeny Kablov said.
It should be noted, that in the course of the meeting the participants sounded the results on the development of materials of new generation, told about design electronic component base for space-rocket equipment, about technologies for petroleum refining and petro-chemistry and researches in the field of biotechnologies.
Following the results of the third meeting of STC, a resolution has been adopted. The members of the council have determined high-priority tasks of the expert community and made proposals on work of a section of the council. “Today major challenges were sounded to solve of which we should make additional efforts in order to achieve results”, - Evgeny Kablov summed up the event.
It should be added, that the Scientific and Technical Council was established at the initiative of the Governor Nikolay Merkushkin in 2004. It includes leading scientists of Russia, entrepreneurs, leaders of the largest enterprises. Together they form single scientific-technical policy of the region, promote developments of the Samara scientists and help to nurture innovations.
