On September 10, 2016, Evgeny N. Kablov, Academician of RAS, Director General of the All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM) took part in a solemn opening of the restored monument to admiral Fyodor F. Ushakov.
The monument to the Great Russian naval commander and the leading statesman was established in the village of Alexeevka, in Temnikovskij region of the Republic of Mordovia, where Fyodor Ushakov lived after his resignation. The initiative group of VIAM raised funds to restore the monument.
“The stele has long been in the emergency condition owning to a lack of funding and attention to the subject, - Vladimir F. Sushkov, the Chairman of the Government of the Republic of Mordovia noted in his speech. – Historical justice has been restored thanks to Evgeny N. Kablov, Director General of VIAM and the employees of the institute. Today the memory of the admiral Ushakov has been perpetuated on the ground of Temnikovskij region. I am sure, that this event will take the rightful place not only in the chronicles of the region, but in the chronicles of the Republic”.
On the same day, Evgeny Kablov visited Rozdestvo-Bogorodichnij Sanaksar Monastery, where a meeting on arrangement of the holy shrine was held. One of the main key issues was the restoration of the object of cultural heritage of federal significance – historical monument to Fyodor Ushakov.
