On August 10, 2016, Denis V. Grashchenkov, Head of Scientific-research bureau of VIAM “Nonmetallic materials, metallic composite materials and thermal protection” took part in the 5^th meeting of the Coordinating council of the enterprises of the Republic of Tatarstan.

In his report Denis Grashchenkov reported about the prospects of development and implementation of additive technologies at the enterprises of the Republic of Tatarstan. In particular, he noted the work of VIAM jointly with Kazan motor-building production association. Details “burner” of the engine I-41 were made by additive technologies within the framework of that work.

According to him, the institute also cooperated with the Regional engineering center KAI-Laser on development and implementation of technologies of laser beam cutting of aluminum and aluminum-lithium alloys. Besides, Denis Grashchenkov reported about joint project of VIAM and Experimental design bureau named after M.P. Simonov on development of advanced low-sized gas turbine engines by additive technologies.
