On May 23, 2016 the delegation of the All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Aviation Materials headed by the Director General of VIAM, Academician of RAS Evgeny N. Kablov visited the Beijing institute of aviation materials (BIAM).
In the course of the visit the guests from Moscow familiarized themselves with research laboratories and production potentialities of the institute. In particular, they inspected the center on a manufacture of shaped castings of titanium alloys, sealants and coating materials.
Evgeny Kablov highly appreciated the level of BIAM`s equipment. At the same time he noted the system approach in development of scientific directions and infrastructure of the institute that enabled the institute to become the materials science center of international level.
Besides, within the meeting the parties expressed interest in the development of cooperation in the following fields: casting technologies for large parts of GTE, heat-resistant alloys for Ni-based disks of GTE, additive technologies and metal-powder compositions as well as coating materials and sealants, working at high temperatures.
At the end of the visit, Evgeny Kablov and Dai Shenlong, Director General of BIAM were in the park of the institute, where a Friendship Tree had been planted during celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of BIAM in 2006. The proverb tells us: “Friendship is a tree, which should be watered”. In confirmation of proverbial wisdom the leadership of the institutes performed a ceremonial of watering that Tree.
It should be noted, that Alexander E. Raskutin, Deputy Head of VIAM`s scientific-research bureau «Polymer composite materials of new generation» visited carbon composite materials plant named Weihai Guangwei Composites Co., Ltd. In the course of the visit, the representative of VIAM held negotiations on cooperation with the China colleagues in the field of carbon fibers and fabrics.
