On November, 17, 2015 a meeting of the commission for the holding of the regional annual competition “Engineer of the year” was held in Ulyanovsk, where winners were identified.

Sergey V. Strelnikov, acting head of a laboratory of the Ulyanovsk Scientific and Technological Center (the branch of the All-Russian Scientific-Research) became one of the laureates of the competition “Engineer of the year – 2015” in the direction of “Professional engineers”.

“The region has taken an active part in the All-Russian competition “Engineer of the year” since 2004”, - Alexander A. Smekalkin, the first Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Ulyanovsk region declared. “In all that time, more than 100 representatives of the region became laureates of this prestige competition. Among them were leaders and employees of large industrial enterprises, scientific and manufacturing organizations, higher education institutions, who achieve high scientific and technical results and promote the development of this field.”

It should be noted, that the regional Ministry of economic development with the assistance of Sergey I. Morozov, Governor of the Ulyanovsk region and the regional union of scientific and engineering public associations was the organizer of the event.
