On October, 21, 2015 Roman Vakhromov, Head of a laboratory of the All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM) took part in a work of the International scientific forum “Days of science. Sankt-Petersburg 2015. New materials”.

The main aim of the event is to create communication platforms for scientists within the scientific community and specialists of related fields of industry, business and education. According to organizers of the forum, “Days of science” should contribute to involve young specialists in the sphere of researches and developments, to form new successful scientific groups, to develop cooperation between Russian scientific research organizations and to create general scientific and technologic space.

Within the framework of the forum Roman Vakhromov made a report at a section “Materials of new generation for aerospace engineering”. In particular, he spoke about the developments of VIAM in the field of aluminum-lithium alloys, hybrid multilayer and polymer composite materials, advanced welding technologies and also touched on the theme of additive technologies for advanced products of aviation engineering.

It should be noted, that the Council of young scientists of RAS and the Coordination Council for youth affairs in the scientific and educational fields of the Presidential Council for Science and Education acted as the organizers of “Days of Science”. The participants of the event were representatives of the leading scientific research institutes, universities, high-technology companies and enterprises.
