On September 3, 2015 Academician of RAS, Evgeny N. Kablov, Director General of the All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM) held a session of the Scientific and Technical Council (STC) of Autonomous Institute "Technopark-Mordovia", as the Council chairman.
In the course of the event members discussed the implementation of decisions made during the last session of STC of Autonomous Institute "Technopark-Mordovia" on May 29,2014, and considered further plans and prospects of development of Technopark for the next year .
Opening the session, Vladimir D. Volkov, Head of the Republic of Mordovia pointed out: "Development of innovative economy is in progress in the region. First of all, the foundation for training of personnel was laid. The lyceum for gifted children, ranked as one of ten best educational institutions of the country, began to work. 6 billion rubles have been invested in the development of the National Research Mordovia State University during recent years. Our Technopark was accredited and granted the official status of technopark in the field of high-tech. Only Technoparks of Kazan, Novosibirsk and Tomsk have this status."
“During one year the number of technopark residents grew by 1.5, 200 working places were created, revenue from activities of enterprises-residents amounted to 746 million rubles", he added.
Vladimir Volkov pointed out that "the development of cluster fiber optics is essential to the Republic." According to him, an engineering center of fiber optics is being created on the base of Technopark, where manufacturing technologies of different kinds of the special optical fiber and equipment on its basis will be developed. Head of the Republic asked the members of the Scientific and Technical Council to support the development of the industry, which is in fact new to the country.
As Evgeny Kablov declared:" The amount of work, carried out with direct support of Head of the Republic in Technopark, is impressive. I make a profound bow to the leadership for establishment of the lyceum for gifted children. Innovative economy is an economy of knowledge. It is very important that people in the Republic understand it.
"Sanctions give an opportunity for everyone to look at himself. At the moment everything depends on us. If we want to become self-reliant, we have a lot of ground to cover. Consolidation of efforts made in science, industry, and state is a guarantee that it will be successful," Director General of VIAM pointed out.
After the session during the interview with journalists Evgeny Kablov noted, that the infrastructure established in Mordovia will make a contribution to the development of digital technologies. In the course of time the Republic will be able to fill all needs of Russian enterprises working in this direction. And that what is being done in Technopark promotes a new technological level", he pointed out. According to him, AI Technopark-Mordovia guarantees that future developments will bring a solid income not only to Mordovia, but also to many regions of the country.
It should be noted, that on the eve of the session Evgeny Kablov held a meeting with Vladimir Volkov, Head of the Republic of Mordovia and also visited the factory for production of optical fiber.

It is created for the purposes of provision of advanced scientific and technical development of the region and becoming a basis for accumulation and effective use of innovative potential of the Republic.
