On August 28, 2015, an agreement concerning scientific-technical cooperation between the All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM) and the company “RUSAL” has been signed at the International Aviation and Space Show MAKS-2015.

The cooperation is aimed at implementation of the top priority current and advanced projects regarding to the development of materials and industrial technologies of new generation.

In particular, the joint work will be aimed at development of new low-alloyed wrought and cast aluminum alloys, as well as at development of energy- and resources-saving technologies for the production of ingots and semi-finished products of a wide nomenclature. Besides, mastering the manufacture of semi-finished products from advanced aluminum and aluminum-lithium alloys for different industries is planned.
