On 27 August, 2015, the signing ceremony of the Cooperation Concept between the All-Russian scientific-research institute of aviation materials (VIAM) and JSC "Russian Helicopters" was held in the framework of the International Aviation and Space Show MAKS-2015.

The Concept was signed by academician of RAS Evgeny N. Kablov, Director General of VIAM, and Alexander A. Mikheyev, Director General of JSC “Russian Helicopters”.

The concept is aimed at establishment of a strategic partnership in the interests of strengthening the defense and security of the state, technological independence on the market of high technologies, maintenance and enhancement of the competitiveness of existing and promising rotorcraft.

According to the signed document, the cooperative work of "Russian Helicopters" and VIAM in the field of development, research, production and commercialization of materials of the new generation will be performed at various stages of the life cycle of rotorcraft.

Therefore, in the course of designing of promising articles the specialists of VIAM have to develop new materials and coatings ensuring the required level of flight performance and to determine the research methods of the implemented materials.

Evgeny Kablov noted that "the signing of this Concept is a symbolic event allowing to unite facilities, equipment, human, intellectual and information resources for the joint work on the implementation of materials and technologies developed in VIAM into articles produced by JSC "Russian Helicopters".

During his visit to the booth of VIAM, Alexander Mikheyev got acquainted with the exposition of the Institute. Structural components of a dustproof device made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic VKU-42 with erosion protection system intended for advanced helicopter engine caused the special interest of the guest.
