On August 26, 2015, an agreement on scientific and technical cooperation between the All-Russia scientific-research institute of aviation materials (VIAM) and JSC "Aluminium Metallurg Rus" (JSC AMR) has been signed at the International Aviation and Space Show MAKS-2015.
The document was signed by academician of RAS Evgeny N. Kablov, Director General of VIAM and Sergey Krasnoperov, Managing Director of AMR.
The agreement is aimed at the establishment of partnerships and mutually beneficial cooperation in the development, patenting, production and market promotion of aluminum alloys of the new generation, semiproducts and final products from them and also introduction of these materials into serial production. According to the document, the parties intend to conduct joint researches and developments aimed at an improvement of product quality and modernization of the production base of aluminum industry.
One of the main objectives of the cooperation is the joint development of technologies and mastering of production of a wide range of semi-finished products (rolled plates, extruded profiles, open forgings, die forgings and sheets) from aluminum alloys developed in VIAM providing a required level of properties with the use of new equipment, and also creation of new alloys and conditions of their treatment and improvement of the existing ones.
It should be noted that the cooperation of JSC "Aluminium Metallurg Rus" with the leading materials science institute of Russia will raise the quality and competitiveness of domestic products on the international market of aerospace materials. The knowledge and experience of specialists of VIAM will help JSC "AMR" to increase the innovative potential, to commercialize successfully the advanced technologies and to develop new promising products for aviation, rocket and space engineering and for other industries.
