On June 18, 2015, a delegation of the All-Russia Institute of Light Alloys (VILS) visited the All-Russian Research Institute of Aviation Materials. During the visit, Academician Evgeny Kablov, Director General of FSUE "VIAM", and Alexander G. Zaderey, Director General of "VILS", have signed an agreement on scientific and technical cooperation.
The Parties agreed to cooperate for commissioning of materials of a new generation and energy-effective resource-saving technologies developed by VIAM to manufacture metallurgical products from special alloys using production facilities of VILS.
In addition, the Institutes are planning to work together on development and launching of new technologies for manufacturing of microingots (from nickel, titanium, magnesium and aluminum alloys, including intermetallic compounds), metallic raw materials for additive technologies and aviation-purposed semiproducts and final products from special alloys.
As Evgeny Kablov stated in this regard, "This agreement is intended to facilitate the development of domestic materials science and to expand the market of new materials and technologies as applied to innovative projects in various sectors of the economics." "I am sure that our further cooperation with VILS will be successfully developed and strengthened", he added.
In turn, Alexander Zaderey noted that "the cooperation between our Institutes will improve the efficiency of scientific researches, competitiveness of domestic developments to implement them in practice." He also congratulated Evgeny Kablov on award of the State Prize in the field of science and technology and wished him "every possible success in the constructive labor for the benefit of the Fatherland."
It is noteworthy that on the eve of the signing ceremony, the guests were acquainted with experimental, research and production base of the Institute. In particular, employees of VIAM showed representatives of VILS laboratories and high-tech small-scale production bays and told the guests about the main directions of activities and scientific achievements of VIAM.
