On September 2, 2014 representatives of All-Russian scientific-research institute of aviation materials (VIAM) took part in general semi-annual meeting of partners of the International project PoLaRBEAR (Production Aspects Of Lattice Related Barrel Elements With Advanced Reliability), which was held in Gelendjik. The works against this project are carried out by Russia and European union in the frames of the Seventh European program of investigations and technologies in aerospace field (FP 7).
It should be noted, that specialists of German aerospace center (DLR, Germany), Technical university Braunsсhweig (Germany), MSC Software GmbH company(Germany), SMR enterprise (Switzerland), FSUE «TsAGI after the name of prof. N.E.Zhukovsky», CRISM, scientific-engineer company «NIK-Samara», Moscow institute of physics and technology, RChTU after the name of D.I.Mendeleev also took part in the event.
In the course of the meeting the partners presented their reports and considered the status of fulfillment of the works against PoLaRBEAR project.
Sergey Panin, the chief of VIAM branch – Gelendjik climatic Testing Center after the name of G.V. Akimov greeted the participants on behalf of the institute leaders. In his turn, Ivan Gulyaev, a representative of VIAM told about the works, carried out by the institute in the frames of the present project against the theme «Choice of materials for multilayer protection of lattice structure components from PCM». In his report he told about schemes of protection of multilayer lattice structure from impact and climatic effects.
It should be added, that participants of the meeting visited GCCT of VIAM, where they were acquainted with investigations in the field of natural aging, biological damages and corrosion of materials and components of structures. The guests appreciated a high level of equipment of the Center , but also noted an importance and actuality of the performed here scientific researches.
The specialists of DLR center paid a special attention to conducting by GCCT VIAM scientists of integral tests on evaluation and analysis of environmental resistance of specimens of heterogeneous materials combination and, in particular, aluminum with carbonplastic and titanium with carbonplastic. As DLR representatives noted, this theme is of great interest for them and expressed their readiness to cooperate with VIAM in this direction.
