During the visit, the guests examined experimental, research and production base of VIAM. In particular, they examined the following complexes: heat treatment, high-precision prepregs, ion-plasma coatings, isothermal forging of heat resistant alloys, bays for mass production of cast charge bars, casting of single-crystal GTE and GTU blades, ceramic composite materials and anti-oxidation coatings, production of powders and powder solders, polymer composite materials of new generation, abrasive polishing of cast charge bars.
Besides the delegation visited scientific-research complexes for chemical express analysis of heat resistant alloys, additive production and high-temperature and fatigue tests.
Experts of VIAM showed the guests the work of unique equipment, told about the newest developments of the Institute and answered questions.
Within the visit, the parties also discussed prospective cooperation between VIAM and «Stankoprom» OJSC.
In this regard, Evgeny Polkanov has stated «as a result of the meeting, the ways of cooperation in several areas were directed, and I think we will have a close cooperation». According to him, «Stankoprom» OJSC is interested in production of high-speed steels and powders for hard alloy. In turn, the holding is ready to offer its services to create appropriate equipment for additive technologies of VIAM. «We have a certain competence and research experience in this area», - he stressed.
Talking about VIAM, Evgeny Polkanov noted that «the institute is very seriously concerned with materials science, development of new materials not only for the aviation industry, but also for other sectors of the national economics». According to him, VIAM has a perfect manufacturing base with advanced equipment. "To be honest, we were surprised that the research institute looks like a major production company which is capable to manufacture original, high-tech products", - he concluded.
In turn, candidate of engineering science Olga Ospennikova, Deputy General Director of VIAM, confirmed the institute`s readiness to cooperate with «Stankoprom» OJSC. «We believe that the re-equipment of the domestic machine building and providing of this industry with new materials is the one of the priority tasks of the state", - she said.
