The All-Russian scientific-research institute of aviation materials (VIAM) became the winner of competition on priority direction of activity of the Russian Scientific Fund (RSF).
The project of VIAM and Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University n.a. R.E. Alekseev has received the three-year grant for organization of a joint laboratory. The sum in the value of 75 mln rubles will be used for development of structural and functional materials for complex technical systems operating in extreme conditions of the Arctic and subarctic climate. Let us note that these works will be carried out under the leadership of academician of RAS Vyacheslav M. Buznik, advisor of general director of VIAM.
In future, it is planned to use the developed materials at creation of new rescue means intended for evacuation of people from objects in emergency in case of anthropogenic or natural accidents in the shelf territories of the North Sea.
Let us remind that the projects of the Russian scientific laboratories created in cooperation of scientific and higher education organizations took part in the competition of RSF. The value of each grant was from 10 up to 25 mln rubles annually. More than 400 projects from 58 subjects of the Russian Federation were considered in the course of the competition.

The Russian scientific fund (RSF) carries out competitive selection of scientific, scientific and technical programs and projects, financing of the projects which have passed competitive selection, participation in forming and replenishment of the targeted capital of scientific and higher education organizations and participates in preparation of offers on forming of the state scientific and technical policy.
Financial provision of RSF programs is carried out at the expense of federal budget and funds, which become available because of extraction of carrying out basic scientific researches from federal targeted programs. Besides, grant support of scientific researches is carried out through the Russian scientific fund.
