On August 13, 2014 candidate of engineering sciences Olga G. Ospennikova, deputy director general of VIAM, has taken part in the Round Table «Scientific and technological demands of the Russian gas-turbine engine building» which was held in framework of the 3rd International Forum «Technologies in Mechanical Engineering-2014» (TVM-2014).
In the course of the event, Olga Ospennikova has made the report «Strategic directions of the development of materials and technologies of their processing for the period until 2030».
In particular, she told about development of superalloys, protecting coatings for turbine blades, intermetallic titanium alloys for GTE parts and production of polymer composite materials and prepregs at VIAM. Olga Ospennikova has given special attention to materials for gas turbine engines and noted, that «application of materials of new generation will allow to reduce weight of engine structures by 40 %». In her opinion, a perspective trend is also development of additive technologies.
Let's remind that the Round Table was organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and JSC “United Engine Building Corporation”.
FOR REFERENCE
The International Forum «Technologies in mechanical engineering-2014» — an international exhibition of achievements of different branches of mechanical engineering which is carried out once in two years in Zhukovsky, on the territory of "Ramenskoe" airfield. For the first time the exhibition was held in 2010.
The main task of the event is development of the domestic machine-building industry and attraction of investments to provide support and strengthening of its scientific and technical potential.
The International exhibition of arms, innovations and technologies “Oboronexpo-2014” is held within the Forum; the exhibition includes a wide range of exhibits demonstrating different military equipment.
