240 Secondary General Schools from the Mari El, Chuvash and Udmurt Republics, the Stavropol Territory, the Bryansk, Lipetsk, Orenburg, Voronezh and Nizhniy Novgorod Regions will get the Russian history books, children’s and classic fiction literature as well as  military-patriotic books by national writers.

Schools will also receive books published by the Institute. They include the biography of the great soviet scientist and aircraft designer Robert Bartini and documentary fiction work about the pioneer in the national material science and engineering and the founder of VIAM Ivan Ivanovich Sidorin.

The VIAM Director General, Academician of RAS Evgeny Nikolaevich Kablov stated that “VIAM pays much attention to the training of high-skilled specialists as well as to the patriotic education of the growing generation. That is why the funds collected by the employees of our Institute were used to purchase these books and send them to schools. These books are of different genres: novels, fantastic fiction, adventures, war novels, etc. written by outstanding national writers – both classical and soviet authors”.

It is necessary to add that such charity events are held by VIAM since 2015.
