VAIM has presented books on History of Russia and patriotic military books written by soviet and Russian authors to three hundred comprehensive secondary schools of the Republic of Mordovia, Ulyanovsk, Samara, Arkhangelsk, Ryazan, Penza and Pskov regions.

The books were purchased on voluntary donations of the employees of VIAM.

Besides, schoolchildren were given books issued by the institute. Among them were the biography of great soviet scientist and aircraft designer Robert Bartini, documentary art work about Ivan I. Sidorin, the founder of VAIM and Russian materials science as well as the book "Admiral Fyodor Ushakov - holy righteous warrior" by the author V.D. Ovchinnikov.

As Academician of RAS, Evgeny N. Kablov, Director General of VIAM pointed out, “Our institute pays great attention to the patriotic upbringing of the younger generation. Thus, the fate of Admiral Fyodor Ushakov is the striking example of selfless service to his state, example of patriotism and ability to bear responsibility for the future of the Fatherland.

VIAM has held similar actions since 2015.
