On June 22, 2017, Academician of RAS, Evgeny N. Kablov, Director General of the All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM), composed of representatives of the Russian Academy of Sciences took part in the meeting with Vladimir V. Putin, the President of RF.

As the Head of state pointed out, “today Russian science should ensure unconditional development of the Russian economy and do it in such a way that our country not only blends, but becomes one of the leaders of the incipient technological revolution in order that Russia would be able to enter into the new technological mode as one of the leaders”.

The issues of reformation of the Russian Academy of Sciences, development of science in Russia and election of new president of RAS were discussed during the meeting.
