On August 27, 2013 the 2nd Russian-Chinese joint scientific and technical symposium «Advanced materials for modern civil aeronautical engineering of the XXI century» took place at the All-Russian institute of aviation materials (VIAM). Scientists and specialists of VIAM Federal State Unitary Enterprise and Aviation Foundation Technology Establishment (AVIC TECH, People's Republic of China) participated in this symposium. Let's remind that the first symposium was held on November 12, 2012 in China (Shenchzhen).
The opening address was delivered by Liu Lin, president of AVIC TECH. He informed the attendees about the activities of AVIC TECH and thanked academician Evgeny N. Kablov, Director General of the All-Russian scientific-research institute of aviation materials for organization of the joint discussion of advanced civil aviation materials. According to the speaker, this symposium is «an excellent information area where outstanding world-known scientists and young engineers can meet and exchange opinions concerning creation of new technologies».
Then, Cand. of engineering science Denis V. Grashchenkov, deputy director general of VIAM acquainted the participants of the meeting with general and prospective activities of VIAM. «Today our institute works not only for aviation industry, but also for other industries, ? the speaker noted. – We are always open for joint works and we cooperate with many scientific and production enterprises both in Russia and abroad. In particular, we appreciate highly the partnership with People's Republic of China».
Heads of the organizations-participants ? Evgeny Kablov, Director General of VIAM and Liu Lin, president of AVIC TECH ? thanked all attendees and expressed their confidence in the further progress of the creation of advanced materials for civil aviation both in the field of scientific researches and in practical implementation of the developments, as it is one of the most significant trends of the industry.
Evgeny Kablov noted the urgency and importance of the joint symposium, which «gives a chance to evaluate the level of researches in progress and to discuss the ways of possible cooperation». He suggested to Liu Lin to prepare a draft agreement on carrying out cooperative works to create advanced aviation materials and to sign it on August 29, 2013 within the frames of MAKS-2013 Air Show at VIAM exhibition booth. Liu Lin expressed his confidence that the agreement will be long-term and will strengthen bilateral cooperation. Besides, the parties have agreed that the following, the third, symposium «Advanced materials for modern civil aeronautical engineering of the XXI century» will be carried out in 2014 in China.
