During the visit of VIAM delegation to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, our specialists visited the Russian-Vietnamese Tropical research and technological center where the Round-Table discussion was held on April 10-12, 2013.

Possible prospects of cooperation and some problems of material science regarding an influence of corrosion, aging and biodamages on complex technical systems were discussed at the meeting. Experts of the Tropical center told to the guests from Russia about the main trends of their activity.

Denis Grashchenkov, Cand. of Sciences (Tech.), deputy general director of VIAM held the report «The main activities of VIAM and prospects of development» at the  Round table. In his turn, Evgeny Nikolaev, chief of environmental resistance department provided offers on scope of mutual cooperation in the field of environmental and microbiological resistance between VIAM, Institute of Industrial Ecology of RAS and the Tropical center. 

«The delegation of VIAM offers an initiative to combine efforts of VIAM, Institute of Industrial Ecology of RAS and the Tropical center to carry out researches in the field of environmental and microbiological tests of materials and structural components», – reported Evgeny Nikolaev.

Furthermore, the Russian experts examined laboratories of the Tropical center, ground-based climatic station "Khoa Lak" in the suburb of Hanoi and the bench complex for exposure of specimens of different materials, structural components and articles.

 «The Parties had confirmed their readiness to develop cooperation in the field of long-term environmental tests of materials in different climatic zones and agreed on some specific works in this area», - declared Denis Grashchenkov. He also noted that «the governing bodies of the Tropical center highly appreciated results of the works carried out by VIAM and an effective activity of top managers of VIAM concerning the personnel policy and modernization of the institute».

Within the framework of the Round Table, delegation of VIAM held negotiations with Russian representatives of the governing bodies of the Tropical center and experts of Institute of Industrial Ecology of RAS.

The Parties agreed some specific tasks of collaborations.
