Dr. Marcus Holz, chairman of the board of directors of ALD Vacuum Technologies GmbH (Germany) visited VIAM on April 10, 2013.

Within the framework of the visit he familiarized himself with activities of VIAM, visited the laboratory of rapid chemical analysis of heat resistant alloys, bays for lot production of cast bars from heat resistant alloys and for molding of single-crystal blades of GTE and GTU, ceramic composite materials and antioxidation coatings, as well as bays for heat treatment and production of ion-plasma coatings.

Upon completion of the inspection, fulfillment of contracts and prospects of future cooperation were discussed. The Parties noted a high level of partnership and confirmed their mutual interest in its further development.

As the first step in this direction, academician Evgeny Kablov, General Director of VIAM suggested to create at the institute a demonstration area for new casting and heat treatment technologies based on ALD equipment manufactured according to technical assignments of VIAM.

It should be noted that ALD is engaged in development and manufacturing of equipment for the foundry industry and is one of key partners of VIAM delivering such equipment. For example, installation and commissioning of two furnaces made by this firm on the specification of VIAM are carried out now at VIAM.
