The Cooperation Agreement between the All-Russian scientific-research institute of aviation materials (VIAM) and the Ural branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences was signed on March 29, 2013 in Yekaterinburg by academician Evgeny N. Kablov, General Director of VIAM and academician Valery N. Charushin, the Chairman of the Ural Branch of RAS.
As Evgeny Kablov declared, «today the agreement on strategic partnership between two Russian scientific organizations leading in their areas was signed, that will allow to improve an efficiency of research works, to provide an increase in competitiveness of results of scientific activity and domestic developments for the purpose of their implementation in applied areas of science and engineering». «Signing of this agreement is a key event which promotes collaboration of academic and industry sciences», – he emphasized.
Also Evgeny Kablov reported that «VIAM is a leading material science institute of the aviation industry representing the interests of the state sector in the field of aviation material science and technologies». «The main objective of the institute is carrying out basic and applied researches, development of new materials and technologies of their production and processing for the use in different industries», – he noted.
According to Evgeny Kablov, an important task of the modern science is the mutual integration which provides transition from basic to applied researches for the purpose of commercialization of scientific results in hi-tech sectors of economy.
