The film crew of Ren TV channel visited VIAM on April 1, 2013 to prepare the next film «Wonders of Engineering» of «Lively themes» serial. 

The film will tell about some interesting facts of fauna which are used in different scientific and engineering approaches. In the interview to journalists academician Evgeny N. Kablov, General Director of VIAM, told about history of aviation material science and prospects of its development.

In particular, he told about such intellectual material as inform-composite able to transfer to the user data on the state of construction. «Technologies for manufacturing PCM of new generation developed by VIAM are very important not only for implementation of the future aviation projects, but also for transition of Russia to a new technological level», – he reported. «Many interesting scientific solutions were inspired by the nature», – Evgeny Kablov emphasized and gave a number of examples.

The employees of VIAM acquainted TV reporters with unique developments and technologies created at the institute, the latest equipment, and with the "clean room" of the Center of competence on development and mastering of new production technologies for polymeric composite materials.

They informed that a special attention is given to researches of calibrated precision prepregs with the use of highly deformable binders and to new approaches to design and simulation with the use of digital technologies. In this way material, production technology and construction are created and optimized at the same time.
