On September 22, 2016, Andrey V. Dutov, Director General of NRC “Institute named after N.E. Zhukovsky” visited G.V. Akimov Gelendzik Climatic Testing Center (GCTC of VIAM).

In the course of the visit, Academician of RAS, Evgeny N. Kablov, Director General of VIAM told the guest about the main directions of activities of the Center, its tasks and prospects of development.

“GCTC VIAM is the only scientific climatic testing center in Russia, where complex tests of materials are performed in the coastal climatic conditions, - Leader of VIAM pointed out. – Established at the Center infrastructure allows to bring protective systems against corrosion, ageing and biological damages to development”, - Evgeny Kablov added.

The specialists of GCTC acquainted Andrey Dutov with samples of materials and structural elements, exposed in open atmospheric areas.  

The guest highly appreciated the possibilities of GCTC; in addition he noted that VIAM performed considerable work aimed at re-equipment of the Center and introduction of most up-to-date machinery.

It should be added, that an agreement on cooperation has been signed between VIAM and NRC “Institute named after N.E. Zhukovsky” this summer.
