PARTICIPATION IN INTERNATIONAL PROJECTS

FSUE “VIAM” SRC RF has long-term work programs of collaboration with many foreign companies acting under general agreements.

Over many years, VIAM collaborates with EADS Deutschland GmbH, EADS CCR and AIRBUS in the sphere of technical examination and research of materials and technologies for aviation structures.

For many years FSUE “VIAM” SRC RF has been linked with scientific-research institutes and production enterprises of China which are the part of China Aviation Industry Corporation (AVIC). Scientific research work has been successfully carried out, license agreements with Beijing Institute of Aeronautical Materials (BIAM) and many other institutes and enterprises of China are fulfilled.

Framework cooperation with The Boeing Company stipulates implementation of testing of metallic and composite materials as well as execution of scientific-research work on development of new technologies and alloys.

Collaboration with engine-producing company Avio S.p.A. (Italy) with participation of JSC Rosoboronexport in the sphere of development of materials and technologies for production of gas-turbine engine parts goes on under the long-term cooperation program.

For a number of years FSUE “VIAM” SRC  RF has been a participant of European Commission projects, performed work on the research of composite materials within the ALCAS project (Advanced Low Cost Airframe Structures, EC 6th FP) and carried out development of a new alloy within the AEROMAG project (Aeronautical application of wrought Magnesium, EC 6th FP).

Testing center of FSUE “VIAM” SRC RF certified by Snecma S.A. (France) carries out certification material tests, determines a possibility of application of materials in production of aviation engineering equipment at Russian and CIS’s plants, in particular the materials of foreign companies. Under the “SaM146” project, work on research and qualification of materials for the engine unit has been performed.

Upon agreements on cooperation in the field of development, production, delivery and operation of the aviation engineering concluded between FSUE “VIAM” SRC RF and enterprises of the Ukraine successful works on actualization of the effective technological normative documents, joint scientific-research work are conducted and deliveries of materials and equipment are carried out.

Successful work links FSUE “VIAM” SRC RF with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, the largest aerospace corporation of India. Under the agreements for transfer of license and technical documentation, deliveries of different equipment accompanied by adaptation of the license technology to the supplied equipment are performed.

Presently, FSUE “VIAM” SRC RF together with Porcher Industries carries out the joint work in the field of development of polymer composite materials on the basis of carbon, glass and organic continuous fiber textile forms produced by Porcher Industries  (France) and polymer binders of FSUE “VIAM”.

Collaboration with foreign universities

FSUE “VIAM” SRC RF maintains and expands its interrelations with higher education institutions of the European Community countries and other countries, which perform, apart from educational, wide research activity in the field of aviation, metallurgy, machine-building and other industries. Within the framework of scientific-research work together with AIRBUS and with participation of Delft University of Technology and EADS Deutschland GmbH, VIAM has successfully fulfilled the work “Development,  manufacture and investigation of samples from fiber-metal laminates based on 1441 aluminum-lithium alloy sheets” (FML1441). 

Upon the initiative of FSUE “VIAM” SRC RF, international scientific-technological conferences are conducted regulatory for establishment of cooperation between Russian and foreign scientists in the promising areas of science and researches.

Participation in international organizations and expositions

FSUE “VIAM” SRC RF is a member of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, Association “Aviation engine-building Union”, European Federation of Corrosion and many other international associations and organizations.
