On April 14-17, 2015, Svetlana Popova and Svetlana Sibileva, representatives of the All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM) participated in the 17th International scientific and practical conference "Technologies of hardening, coating and repair: Theory and Practice", which was held in St. Petersburg.
This annual conference is the largest event in Russia and CIS countries focused on these specific topics. It is dedicated to industrial technologies that can improve production efficiency and maximize cost reduction due to the use of modern technologies of hardening, recovery and repair. In particular, the conference considered production and technical problems of various industries and urban economy related to repair, recovery and hardening of machines, equipment, tools and production accessories.
At the event, representatives of VIAM made their presentations. Svetlana Sibileva reported about surface preparation of titanium alloys for bonding and application of varnish-and-paint coatings.
In turn, Svetlana Popova told about polishing of the alloys surface in the electrolyte plasma.
VIAM employees were awarded diplomas for participation in the conference.
It should be noted that inspection of work bays for recovery and application of functional coatings using welding, spraying and deposition technologies was organized in frame of the conference.
