On March 12, 2015 the "Functional materials to reduce aircraft noise in the cabin and on the ground" conference took place at the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM).
The event was opened by the General Director of VIAM, Academician Evgeny Kablov. He welcomed the participants and wished them success. "It's nice to see here many representatives of sectoral institutions, enterprises, research institutes and universities", - said the head of VIAM.
Evgeny Kablov has noted that the theme of this conference is important not only for the aviation industry but also for other sectors of the economy including the construction industry, transport and communications, as well as industrial production of various products. "Functional materials to reduce aircraft noise in the cabin and on the ground - this is the most important area, which largely determines the competitiveness, effectiveness and feasibility of our products both in the domestic and foreign markets", - said Evgeny Kablov.
In his speech he emphasized the strategic directions of development of materials and technologies to process them for the period up to 2030 where the main role is played by the new generation. "These materials are based on four principles. This is fundamental, fundamental-oriented research to create scientific and technological potential, "green" technologies to create materials and integrated security systems, as well as the implementation of the full life cycle using information technology. In this context it is important for continuity of material, technology, design and equipment",- said Evgeny Kablov.
In addition, the head of VIAM has spoken about the importance of additive technologies, which are one of the key areas of reform of the domestic industry. In particular, he said that VIAM specialists has made by the additive technology using metal-powder composition of the domestic aviation perspective detail PD-14 engine for the first time in Russia. "We were able to make a swirl combustion chamber front device, which fully meets the requirements of the design documentation", - said Evgeny Kablov. According to him, the part has already been included in the design documentation and went into production.
As it was reported by the participants at the end of the conference the participants had an interesting open dialogue and fruitful exchange of experiences. They also expressed confidence that the regular holding of such events on the basis of VIAM is important for applied research, as well as the creation and implementation of new functional materials to reduce noise.
