On May 29, 2014, representatives of the All-Russian scientific-research institute of aviation materials took part in meeting of the Russian-Venezuelan subcommittee for education and science of the Russian-Venezuelan government commission. Vladislav Antipov, deputy director general of VIAM, Alexey Lutsenko, head of Testing Center of VIAM and Vladislav Zyryanov, head of «International cooperation and foreign economic activity» department took part in the event, which was held at the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.
The Russian Part of the Subcommittee was headed by Victor M. Smirnov, acting as the director of the International department of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation and the Part of the Bolivarian Republic Venezuela – by Alberto Quintero, deputy minister of public authority for science, technologies and innovations.
During the meeting, the Parties discussed cooperation in the sphere of the higher education and in the scientific and technical sphere; problems of studying of the Russian language in Venezuela were considered as well.
Discussion of the program of scientific and technical cooperation between Russia and Venezuela became one of the major subjects. In particular, the offer of VIAM on joint research with the National center of chemical technologies of Venezuela in the field of corrosion protection, aging, biodamages and other promising studies of the influence of tropical climate on materials and structures were evaluated by Alberto Quintero as priority directions of bilateral cooperation.
