Conference about nuclear magnetic resonance in composites
On February 12, 2014, the scientific and technical conference «Nuclear magnetic resonance in composite materials» took place at the All-Russian scientific-research institute of aviation materials (VIAM).
In the course of the conference, scientists and specialists of the industry discussed problems of topological, chemical (electron) structure of polymer composite materials, research of molecules and atoms dynamics, structure of ceramic composites, structure and properties of articles from composites by nuclear magnetic resonance methods (incl. magnetic-resonance tomography), influence of water on PCM and articles from them by means of nuclear magnetic resonance methods.
Academician of RAS Evgeny N. Kablov, Director General of VIAM, addressed to the attendees with the opening speech. He reminded of the importance of materials science in implementation of the priorities formulated by the leadership of Russia. «It is very important to provide that the materials science alongside with other innovative directions becomes the basis of economic growth of Russia», noted Evgeny Kablov.
Speaking about composite materials, the head of VIAM emphasized, «Taking into account the increasing volumes of their application, developers and manufactures of PCM have to be provided with competent, reasonable recommendations on effective control and protection of structures made of composites».
