"We liberated Europe and the world from the Nazi plague, but despite that some forces are making a huge effort that Victory Day disappeared forever from our lives. The events in Ukraine clearly confirm this fact and are intended to abolish not only the state of our brotherly people, but also impinge on the stability of Russia and our independence, "- said the head of VIAM.
According to him, to avoid this, it is necessary to honor the hero feats, to tell the younger generation about the price of victory, which was paid by our ancestors, in unison to fight for their present and future. "We will not allow to rewrite the history, to give and to defame our Great costly Victory," - said General Director of VIAM.
He also recalled the significant contribution made by VIAM during the war. "The work of our Institute has been highly appreciated by the government, and in 1945 VIAM was awarded by the Order of Lenin" - recalled Evgeny Kablov.
Besides, the head of VIAM added that "many members of VIAM fought at the fronts of the Great Patriotic War, defending our Motherland."
Then, Evgeny Kablov handed veterans gifts and announced a minute of silence in memory of those killed at the front.

Celebrations continued with a festive concert, before which the chairman of "A Just Russia Party" Sergey Mironov addressed. He congratulated Evgeny Kablov and the entire members of the Institute on Victory Day. According to the guest, VIAM makes an invaluable contribution to our country's defense throughout its history. Lanovoy spoke about his childhood memories when, as a boy of seven, he met in Ukraine first rumblings of war and how the long-awaited was Victory for our people. VIAM reveres the memory of fallen soldiers of Arbat
On the 69th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people over fascist Germany representatives of the Council of young specialists and scientists of VIAM honored the soldiers of the Great Patriotic War by laying flowers to «Soldiers of Arbat» memorial board on May 9, 2014.
The Ceremony was held at 23 Arbat Str. within the actions carried out by the Central administrative district of Moscow. In addition, veterans of the Great Patriotic War, officials, representatives of youth and public organizations took taken part in the event.
As representatives of VIAM noted, similar events are especially important for the youth.
